The Sexual Psychophysiology and Affective Neuroscience (SPAN) Laboratory team is devoted to increasing the understanding of sexual responses in individuals and their partners, including sexual behaviors that risk physical and emotional health. We believe that treatments used by health care professionals should be supported by research, and we see our responsibility in that process as helping bridge the gap between basic science and application. In service of this ideal, we offer student mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate level, actively conduct research, and disseminate our findings in scientific venues and to the media on request.
