Nicole Prause, Principal Investigator
Nicole Prause (view CV) obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 2000 with High Honors and Distinction in Psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington. She continued graduate study at Indiana University with The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Science in 2007. Dr. Prause completed her internship at the Boston Consortium with teaching fellowships at Boston University and Harvard University. She joined the faculty in the Department of Psychology at Idaho State University as Assistant Professor in 2007 and is Associated Faculty in the Women’s Studies Program.

Verena Roberts, Fourth Year in Clinical Psychology
Verena Roberts is a fourth year graduate student in the clinical psychology program. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Idaho State University and graduated with high honors. Verena originally grew up in Berlin, Germany. For her master’s thesis research, Verena investigated the construct of erotophobia/erotophilia by using the startle eye blink paradigm. Verena’s current research interests include physiological assessment of models explaining sexual aversion and low sexual desire. Throughout her training, Verena has received numerous competitive scholarships (i.e., ASISU, Kasiska). She has worked at the Janet Anderson Gender Resource Center as a graduate assistant for the past two years where she was actively involved in HIV prevention, for which she successfully wrote and received grants from the Department of Health and Welfare. In her last year at ISU, Verena is working at Pocatello Family Medicine providing therapy and testing services.
Cameron Staley, Second Year in Clinical Psychology
Cameron Staley completed his B.S. in Psychology at Weber State University graduating summa cum laude. During his undergraduate, he received competitive intramural funding and presented at regional professional meetings. He has conducted research on group processes and deception in intimate relationships, and his current research interests include sexual functioning in relationships and the impact of erotica use on relationship satisfaction. While completing coursework towards his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Idaho State University, Cameron also is working at Bannock House, a shelter where his service includes suicide prevention, anger management, and other community outreach activities.
Adam Emfield, Senior
Adam is currently a senior working towards a B.A. in Psychology at Idaho State University, with a minor in Computer Science. He plans to plan to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology to earn a M.S. in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Engineering Psychology after graduating from Idaho State University. He currently works at DocuTech, Inc. as a Software Quality Assurance Specialist, and has an interactive role with Product Marketing to assist in creating software products that have strong usability designs. His research interests include sensation and perception, psychomotor abilities and limitations, and human-computer interaction.
Becky Hansis-O'Neill, Senior
Becky is a junior working toward her B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Zoology here at Idaho State University. She is currently working in a Behavioral Neuroscience and a Behavioral Pharmacology lab as well as the SPAN-lab. Her interests are in the evolutionary roots of behavior and in the comparative studies of human and animal behavior. Becky plans to apply to an experimental psychology graduate program. Her goal is to, one day, do research and possibly to teach at a university. Her specific research interests include sexual dimorphisms of brain and behavior, mate selection, and male aggression.
Conrad Hillman, Senior
Conrad will be working as the Data Management Specialist in the SPAN-lab this semester. He is an undergraduate seeking a B.S. in Psychology, and is interested in pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology.
Nikesh Joshi, Junior
Nikesh is a computer science major also working on an associate's degree in physics. He plans to attend graduate school in the area of computer engineering. He currently is an undergraduate research assistant in the laboratory.
Kishor KC (KC), Senior
KC is majoring in electrical engineering. He is the SI leader for Math 108 at ISU. He plans to pursue a graduate degree in Bio-Medical Engineering and Control Engineering. He currently is an undergraduate research assistant in the laboratory working on signal processing projects related to electroencephalography and photoplethysmography.
Bonnie Munns (BJ), Senior
Bonnie is pursuing a B.A. in psychology and plans to pursue a masters in social work. She currently works as a recreational therapist tech at State Hospital South. She is the current IRB compliance officer in the laboratory.
Monica Tromp, Junior
Monica will be working in the SPAN-lab as an Undergrad RA for the summer. She has obtained an A.S. in Recording Arts and is pursuing a B.A. in Anthropology. Monica plans on eventually specializing in forensic anthropology with an emphasis on human rights cases. She is working as the Coordinator for the SPAN-lab.
